How to Throw a Twocan 2nd Birthday Bash – All About Harrison’s Jungle-Themed Birthday
Planning Harrison’s 2nd birthday party was so much fun! As soon as he started getting close to the big 2-year milestone, I knew we had to plan a fun celebration for him.. and for us! Celebrating two years of being PARENTS!!!! Especially with another baby on the way, I wanted to make his birthday super special – and thought a fun jungle-tropical theme would be perfect! So what better way to celebrate than a ‘Two-Can’ themed birthday party?!
Where We Hosted the Party
We threw the party at the Kenny Flowers Cabana Club (upstairs event space above the Kenny Flowers flagship store) on King Street in Charleston, and turned it into a vibrant tropical jungle for the party.
Twocan Birthday – Jungle-Themed Birthday Invite
I designed this colorful, tropical jungle, toucan-inspired birthday invite myself and then uploaded it to Paperless Post for the party (or you could print and send in the mail!). Because so many of you asked for it, we made the exact Twocan party invite we used available for purchase & download here!

What We Wore! Our Jungle-Themed Birthday Outifts
Harrison wore a Kenny Flowers shirt paired with these vibrant red shorts.
I wore this cute, tropical bump-friendly set (that would look FAB without a bump too!) and Kenny wore this shirt to daddy-son match with Harrison!!
Giant Number 2 – Harrison was obsessed with this haha
Party Sign with Stand
Harrison’s bar sign – from Etsy!
How cute is this? The “Over 21 months only” was my husband’s idea!
Definitely completes the Jungle-Themed Birthday vibe,
The Drinks
We rented a frozen drink machine from FrozenDownSouth (let them know Jetset Christina sent you!) and had one side be virgin piña coladas, and the other side frozen Home Team Gamechangers (a frozen painkiller famous here in Charleston!) – This was a huge hit!!!!!!! I am sooo glad we had a frozen drink machine – now I want one at every party!!!
We also had these pineapple cups for the littles to put their frozen virgin piña coladas in, which was such a fun touch – they loved them!!!!!
Jungle-Themed Birthday Table Decor
I got my flowers from Trader Joes (always great prices!) and put them together myself in some fun vibrant tropical displays for a Jungle-Themed Birthday!
I also had these toucan balloons scattered throughout the party – we even hung them from the lamps and from the ceiling with fishing line (so it was like they were floating in the air) which was so cute!
Giant toucan balloon (we did one this size), and then we did a bunch this size.
Custom balloons and stands
I rented these colorful balloons and this cute peacock chair from Holy City Party (tell Whitney Jetset Christina sent you!)
Birthday banner – from Amazon!
The Food
With a party from 4-7, we had apps out from 4-530 and then dinner was out from 530-7. For dinner, we did barbecue catering from Home Team Barbecue (SO GOOD!!!) and I made a few snacks (like a charcuterie board, a salad, and little finger foods) to go along with the dinner.
Popcorn snack cups with little sand toy scoopers to go with the theme!
I always use these bamboo disposable plates for our parties – they’re so thick and chic, and people always compliment them!!! I love them!
The Cookies
For his tropical cookies, I ordered from a local baker in Charleston @sweetambscookies – she crushed it!!!!!!!!! If you reach out, let her know Jetset Christina sent you!
If you want more options, you can try these deliciously cute cookies or these Hawaiian Lau inspired cookies on Etsy, that ship (quickly!) nationwide!
I loved this one that said “welcome TWO the jungle”
The Cake
I baked & decorated Harrison’s cake myself using my favorite coconut cake recipe!
You can get the full details of the best coconut cake recipe here.
For a complete Jungle-Themed Birthday, I got these little birds on top of the cake here and the tropical leaves I put around the cake are these ones.
The Party Activities
The ball pit was Harrison’s absolute HIGHLIGHT of the whole party (he couldn’t stop talking about it after) and I can’t imagine not having it for his Jungle-Themed Birthday!!!! It helped keep the littles super busy and having the time of their life, so that the adults could relax and enjoy the party!!!
We rented our ball pit from Little Babes of Charleston (let them know Jetset Christina sent you!)
So many kids showed up to the party in Kenny Flowers which was so fun!
These matching mommy and me dresses!!! so cute.
We also set up Harrison’s coloring table + chairs (we brought from home!) and covered it in a sticker sheet for coloring, and a bunch of jumbo crayons – this was a hit and kept kids busy!!!!
Tropical Jungle Party favors
I got these cute slap bracelets as little favors for the kiddos, as well as bubbles – always a hit at any toddler birthday party – a must!!!
